“Maze” at SquidFire

I’ve been a big fan of SquidFire ever since I discovered them a little over a year ago. They’re the home of one of my favorite t-shirts ever, My Octopi, which they sadly no longer sell. You can, however, get it as a polo or as a tank top in the original blue.

But that isn’t really the point of this post. The point is their Maze t-shirt, which they released as part of their Winter ‘06 line:

It’s just like SquidFire to make things so cute and unthreatening. Look at that li’l monster, wif his li’l teef. Awww…. and those itty bitty horns! I could just eat ‘im up! Yes I could! But seriously: it’s a pretty cute monster, as far as monsters go. I can’t really imagine why any self-respecting knight would want to go on a quest to slay such a cutie. Unless it terrorizes hamlets and eats maidens, or something.

Speaking of knights and cuteness, the knight in the lower corner that seems to want to disembowel this monster is pretty cute himself. He looks so determined, so ambitious down there in the corner.

Since I actually have this shirt, I feel qualified to comment on the quality of the print itself. And the print is really nice! It doesn’t give the shirt a heavy feel, nor does it make it feel less flexible. The print seems very durable; I’ve washed it a few times, and I haven’t noticed any fading, peeling, or cracking, which is nice! Thumbs up to SquidFire for another great season!

P.S. They use American Apparel for most of their products; Maze is no exception.
P.P.S. Maze is available on a light blue girlie tee, too!

I’ve been a big fan of this shirt ever since I saw it - do you think that’s a fade in the green of the trees (it looks more yellow to one side) or is it just a trick of the light? either way, great concept and great design.

David- It’s most likely the light (unless that print was a freak for some reason), because mine is the same green throughout. Kevin and Jean-Baptiste are quite a talented and dedicated duo; I’m looking forward to their Summer ‘07 stuff! Are you ever going to print Lukasauras Stax without the text, or is it going to remain forever only in me dreams?
