Oh man, it's largely my fault for not telling you! I thought I had, but I guess it must have slipped my mind. I'm glad to hear the pins don't mess up the print; I really liked the idea of using pins as a customizable design element! I'm also gratified that you like my statistical analyses of Threadless. It takes a certain sort of person, I think. Do you have any plans to release new things at Chimni any time soon?

Thanks for the kind words! I just came across this now... September... about 6 months too late! I dunno if anyone will be reading this but yeah, this design was geared more towards the DIY, crafty crowd.

After going to a bunch of holiday sales and seeing how popular pins were, I got to thinking about how I could take pins to the next level by making them a part of the shirt. I had just quit working for a major t-shirt company that had the technology/connections to add all kinds of stitching, nail heads, and shiny bits to their shirts but it raised the price. It dawned on me that making pins to go with a shirt would be something Chimni could afford to do and not have it affect the price too much.

We still have a bunch available. I wear mine all the time and the pins haven't really hurt the fabric or print yet. It turned out that girls seemed to like the army color more than the blue and some people just wanted the pins!

Anyway, thanks for noticing Chimni and keep up the good work. I love the site - especially when you guys get into a statistical analysis of Threadless operations!

That's a really cool idea. I've done pins since I started and I can't believe that I never thought of something like this...

I think a certain subset of hipster girls (and maybe also artsy/craftsy people?) would be more likely to wear this than emo girls.. not to overgeneralize, or anything :)

cool idea though - be interesting to see how the design looks after a bunch of 'pinning' and washing.

Some people like wearing pins, some don't. I don't normally wear buttons, but this shirt is pretty nifty. The only thing I'd be worried about is messing up the shirt, and especially the print itself, by putting the pins on a lot.

The design is cool, but I wouldn't want pins on my t-shirt.

Maybe that's just me though.
