More Suspicious Shirtery at Hot Topic

Yikes, sorry for the dearth of updates as of late—it’s been a busy couple of weeks for all of us. We hope to be posting more regularly in the upcoming week!

Anyway, on to the real news. Remember back when Hot Topic started selling those t-shirts that looked suspiciously like Remember back when Hot Topic started selling those t-shirts that looked suspiciously like Seibei’s Sandwich Dinosaur? As you might remember, that issue fortunately got resolved relatively amicably; unfortunately, it seems as though something funny is up at Hot Topic yet again:

Hot Topic
Threadless

Some of you may recognize the bottom image as Lil’ Soap, a Threadless design by Jess Fink that’s been around for quite a while. The suspiciously similar design immediately above it is a rip that’s up for sale at Hot Topic.

If you’re interested, you can read Jess’s reaction to the matter at her LiveJournal. She’s also written about it at You Thought We Wouldn’t Notice. Finally, you can find a brief yet interesting discussion on the matter in the comments section at this Fleen post.

The Ultimate Vampire T-Shirt

Sadly, it doesn’t exist… yet. I’m sure this design will get printed somewhere!

Vampire - Olly Moss

In artificial light, Vampire looks like… well, just a plain ol’ vampire. But take your fanged cotton f(r)iend out into the sun, and he (along with your chest) will burst into flames, thanks to the magic (i.e. science) of photochromic inks! In the dark, however, where vampires really shine (pun intended), his eyes and fangs will glow, unfortunately alerting your *ahem* his victim to your/his presence.

By the prolific and excellent Olly Moss.

Indie T-Shirts for Valentine’s Day?!

No, sorry. We really don’t have anything to say about Valentine’s Day, I guess… but I’ll point you in the direction of these humorous (and free!) Valentine’s Day cards from Thinkin Lincoln. So I guess that kind of ties in with Tuesday’s post about Abraham Lincoln. If you’re in need of a last-minute card… you can certainly go wrong with Tuesday’s post about Abraham Lincoln. If you’re in need of a last-minute card… you can certainly go wrong with these!

Happy Birthday, Abraham Lincoln!
