George Orwell-Inspired T-Shirts Are Doubleplusgood

The dystopian writings of George Orwell, most notably Nineteen Eighty-Four and Animal Farm (not to be confused with Animal House), are pretty popular. It should come as no surprise, then, that there are some t-shirts that have been inspired by George Orwell’s work. What’s so amazing about these tees, however, is that I’ve only seen good ones. That’s right, no shoddy t-shirt knockoffs for George Orwell. Know of any (good or bad) that I’ve missed? Let me know in the comments. Without further ado, two by two, I give you t-shirts directly inspired by two of George Orwell’s masterpieces.

I have all the novels and essays by George Orwell at http://www.webliterature.net/literature/Orwell/index.html and many other great novels, stories and poems at http://www.webliterature.net/literature/index.html - take a look if you like literature - it is easily the best site available on the internet. Stop spending $$$ to cut trees and make the planet green. Spread the good word around.

A lot of people don’t realize that 1984 and Animal Farm were warnings of the dangers of stalinism, not anti-communist.

In fact, Orwell fought in the Spanish civil war on the side of the coalition of Communists, Marxists, and Anarchists againt Franco. He was a member of the P.O.U.M. (Worker’s Party of Marxist Unification), and got shot in the neck and almost killed while in a trench.

He wrote Homage to Catalonia to chronicle his experiences.

Just hoping anyone who teaches his other works will read this and not use 1984 and Animal Farm to pump their student’s heads full of anti-socialist propaganda and misinformation :)
