Zeus at iliveutopia

It’s been almost a year since we last heard from Florian Baumgartner, a German chap whose Illuminati-referencing t-shirt design caused me to lapse briefly into paranoid hysteria. Now he’s sent me a link to a new t-shirt label, iliveutopia, and once again I must say he’s succeeded in freaking me out a little bit. (The tremendous thunderstorm currently rattling my house is not helping matters much, either.)

If you’ve already clicked on the iliveutopia link, you’ll know that the site navigation is somewhat—how should I put it?—unintuitive. As such, you may just want to click here and get straight to the goodies. But be warned: in bypassing the site’s gateway, you will be missing out on the full, life-enriching iliveutopia experience. You have been forewarned.

Getting on to business, here’s my favorite offering: a bold, monochrome, mythologically-inspired design simply titled Zeus.

Zeus at iliveutopia: €20.00

The design kind of reminds me, in a vague way, of the Zelda imagery on this King of Games shirt I wrote about back in 2007. Not to say that the present shirt was in any way inspired by the Zelda one—in fact, I would find that scenario highly unlikely. I just thought it was an interesting thing to note. Or at least, it seemed interesting at the time. Now it just seems like the idle musing of someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games.

Anyway: Zeus! He throws (threw?) lightning bolts, like the ones that are currently attacking my house. And this shirt has lightning bolts on it. Coincidence, or Illuminati conspiracy?

I’ll leave that for you to decide.
