Status Report / We Want You!

Hey everyone! Long time, no see.

As you know, Joe’s called it quits. The three Bonanziers are now only two: a pair, a duo, a biumvirate, if you will. The tripod has lost a leg—and as we all know, nobody likes a bipedal tripod. It’s all wobbly, and kind of misses the point of having a tripod in the first place.

Additionally, the recent months have been pretty doggone busy for us all, and a daunting school-year fast approaches. Taking all this into consideration, John and I confabulated about what to do. Our decision: to cool it with this whole t-shirt blogging thing.

Let me be clear: we’re not shutting down the blog per se; but we don’t plan to post too much anymore, either. If there’s something we just can’t resist, we might throw up a quickie. Don’t expect nearly the same frequency of posts as before, though. In the parlance of serious business, you might say that this is a significant cut-back in our news update sector.

Relatedly, if you don’t already subscribe via RSS, now might be a good time to start.

(By the by, lest there be any confusion, I should mention that our store remains open and operational. We plan to keep it that way, at least for the short-to-mid-term.)

Up until now I’ve emphasized that we won’t be posting very much anymore. And that’s true, at least to some extent. But in reality, it might turn out to be not so true. It all kind of depends on you folks. See, we’re happy to take guest posts. So if you have something interesting to say about t-shirts, design, apparel, illustration, comics, games, the internet, life, the universe, or anything else, send it our way and we might just post it.

Concerning the sort of stuff we’d like to see: really, it can be anything. Just be reasonable. I guess use the old Fantastic Bonanza posts as a sort of guideline. It doesn’t have to be flawless prose, but things like spelling and punctuation are always pretty neat. Also, we don’t want to just see press releases or unadorned self-promotion; be original!

As I mentioned before, I’m really curious to see how this goes. In the worst case, no one writes in anything and the blog continues to be as irregular as an octogenarian’s bowels. But there’s always the off-chance that we’ll see some really interesting stuff. Hey, it’s worth a shot, right?

[hat tip HYA] I just couldn’t resist this post… but it doesn’t mean I’ve changed my mind.

I Resign / Top 10 Hot Dog T-Shirts

It is with this post that I publicly announce my official resignation from both Fantastic Bonanza and Fantastic Blognanza. It’s been 2/1.5 years of immense personal growth, and I’m glad I’ve had all of these experiences and met all these great people. I hope I’ve been able to provide you with something, whether news of a cool t-shirt or increased exposure for your business. If you’d still like to keep up with what I’m doing (though I won’t be mentioning t-shirts all that often, I believe), I have a personal website/blog: Joe Wasserman dot com. Come say ‘hi’, if you’re so inclined!

And now, this is my send-off, dedicated by myself to myself: a top ten list of hot dog t-shirts. Because I really like hot dogs.

It’s Quiet… Too Quiet

Hey everyone: there’s been a dearth of posting here recently, and it’s due to some changes that are happening behind the scenes here at Fantastic Bonanza. We hope to have more information for you over the weekend. Until then, I’m sorry to say that things are probably going to stay pretty quiet here on the Blognanza. If you’re starved for t-shirt news, check out some of the blogs on our blogroll! I especially recommend Shirts on Sale, Tcritic, and T-Shirts around the Internet.
