MyBlogLog

In case you haven’t noticed, we have started running a “Recent Readers” plugin through MyBlogLog that we think is pretty cool. It’s sort of like a social networking site for bloggers and their readers; it will automatically join you to the community of those blogs that you read (or you can do it yourself, and you can always remove yourself from a community you don’t wish to be a part of).

Obviously some of you already have MyBlogLog accounts, but if you don’t and you want to be a part of this and find some cool blogs, you can sign up here. Hopefully we’ll be able to implement MyBlogLog avatars in the comments section, which would be cool!

There probably won’t be many substantive posts this week, since all three of us are super busy with finals this week.

Itty Bitty Ad Space

I’m just writing to inform you that we’re trying out two tiny advertising boxes over on right , under just above all the links the ‘Latest Posts’. They are brought to you by Project Wonderful and are the first time we’ve ever tried making any money (even if it’s just cents) off of this blog. Hopefully we will be able to use the $$$s (note: number of ‘$’s subject to change at any time) to run our own little ads. Maybe we’ll be able to do some donations like Andy at Hide Your Arms, although out of all the tee shirt blogs (okay, he does long sleeves only), I think he has a pretty large readership; he deserves it, though!

Pixellated Humor and Logiferous Languages

I’d like to take a moment to point out two recent additions to the blogroll.

First, we have the webcomic Pixel, by Chris Dlugosz. It sort of reminds me of Dinosaur Comics in its content, albeit more absurdist. There’s also quite a bit of self-reference and recursion. So it’s got that going for it.

Also, there’s the Language Log. On the off chance that you are interested in language and linguistics and you haven’t already come across this blog, I’m throwing the link out there so you can go check it out. It’s frequently updated, always interesting, and perfectly accessible, even if you have no background in linguistics. Give it a look.

Blogging about Enclothe Blogging about Fantastic Blognanza Blogging about me [Enclothe]

Potentially one-upping the Enclothe blog in terms of meta-blogging, or possibly just take this whole thing to a ridiculous extreme, I’m blogging about how nice Derek was when he blogged about us.

He had super-nice things to say about us! But even more importantly, the Enclothe blog is a regularly updated site for exclusive sneak peaks of upcoming Enclothe shirts, rare insights into the artistic process involved in creating a t-shirt, and general t-shirt-related goodness. Also, if you couldn’t tell by the other posts I’ve written about Enclothe, I really like his t-shirts!

Wordpress 2.1

I finally upgraded our blogging software to Wordpress 2.1. It should be working, but if something exploded, let me know about it.

This Is a Really Awesome Conversation About T-Shirts We Had

Hello again Internet,
John, Greg and I were talking about t-shirts this one time through electronic mail (we do this fairly regularly), and this is what we had to say:

Joe: I thought you might like at least one shirt here? http://www.kingkongshrimp.com/

John: Their shirts have text on them! That’s kind of lame. That said, I do like “Who Gives A Hoot.” Thanks for the link, Joe!

Joe: I liked the one way on the right with the big robot the most.

John: It’s just a tad sparse for my tastes, but still an excellent image.

Greg: Yeah, that one was the one I thought you thought I would like. That sentence made sense. Really. Though how is the one on the far right different from the one on the far left? And John, one of OUR shirts has text on it. Does that make IT lame?

Joe: Guys, I’m going to put this on the internet.

P.S. Divulging personal information/private conversations is what Internet is all about?

Our First Post!

Hello, Internet! Fantastic Bonanza (that’s us) have given birth to a beautiful baby blog. We’re going to be writing all sorts of pretty sweet things on this new blog, including but not limited to:

  • News about t-shirts we like
  • News about t-shirt shops we like
  • News about t-shirt blogs we like
  • News about other t-shirt related things that we like
  • Other CRAZY stuff that we find on the internet that we like

We’re going to be posting at the very minimum one quality entry every Monday, but be on the lookout for more! Our tentacles have affixed to many t-shirt related websites by now. Yes, we have tentacles. No, you can’t see them.

There are a few ground rules that we’d like to lay out for all of our fine readers before getting down to business:

  1. Be nice!
  2. Or else.

Get ready for some fantastic posts about awesome things that are awesome.

P.S. We have an RSS feed if that is the kind of thing that you are interested in! You can find it here: feed://blog.fantasticbonanza.com/feed/
