John’s Top Ten Tees of Aught Seven

As Joe mentioned yesterday, now is the time for more Top Ten Lists. Specifically, it is time for a Top Ten List from me, John! There’s a disappointing consistency among most of my picks, I’m afraid. I’ll have to expand my shirtish horizons in 2008.

10. Music Connects Us Through Space from Uneetee

Every once in a while, Uneetee will catch me off guard, much to my pleasant surprise. I guess the childhood dream of starting a rock band in space hasn’t yet lost its appeal, though it’d certainly be difficult to get NASA to pay for a recording session.

9. Roboto Mori by Joe Infurnari from Bountee

Greg yakked this one up a while ago.

8. Deus Ex Machina from Threadless

Though we never reviewed it, Greg did mention this shirt briefly when chronicling his trek to Threadless IRL.

7. Silent Weapon for Quiet Wars from Beautiful/Decay

I took a quick look at this design along with three other t-shirts that were, at the time, fresh additions to Beautiful/Decay’s Artist Series.

6. Nessie from Bloo Empire

You can read a li’l about this t-shirt back here. I wanted to list Keeley Carrigan’s Monster Tree, profiled here, instead, but that would be breaking the rules. Since, you know, it was pre-2007 and everything.

5. Robot Anatomy v2.0 from White Frog T-Shirts

I really wish I could remember how I happened upon this shop, but I can’t. Its 789 might have something to do with it, though. Possibly. Like, someone else linked to it as part of a “seven ate nine” post—maybe?

4. Conezor Attacks from Fantastic Bonanza

Did you guys know that you can get this in Men’s Large now? You guys probably already knew that. Anyway, click here if you want to revisit Conezor’s debut.

Turntable Archaeology: New T-Shirt from Uneetee

Okay, so this t-shirt design isn’t called Turntable Archaeology, it’s Blast From The Past. I like my title more, but I’m not in charge… Regardless, the design is pretty great. Subtle, clever, and cool!

Blast from the Past - Ed Pincombe - Uneetee
Blast From The Past NEW! at Uneetee

Ed Pincombe (who is from Illinois which is cool because that’s where we’re all from!) won Uneetee’s grand prize this month, so his t-shirt design is now available for purchase. But the super cool thing about it is that all of Uneetee’s grand prize winners from now will be available for the first five days of the month for only $10! That’s pretty neat, and an especially good deal considering they’re printed on American Apparel.

Expensiveness: $10 for now!

P.S. There are a couple new additions to Uneetee’s permanent collection this week that I enjoy, like Traffic Jam and Hot Air Water Balloonist.
P.P.S. Ed Pincombe was also printed at Threadless this week for The Unseen Unheard!

A Bunch of Awesome Sales

There are currently a bunch of great sales posted up at T Junction, which often has more-than-daily updates of t-shirt coupons, sales, and discount codes, so I thought I’d summarize some of my favorites here:

Uneetee: $12 off their Collections tees for 12 days

Oddica: $13 anniversary sale ends Tuesday night

Allmightys: All tees are € 18.00 until July 22nd

And those three are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg! T Junction has loads more discounts listed, and is constantly getting updated! It’s kind of like Samson, but instead of strength it has t-shirt sales, and instead of hair it has… bloggers?

Uneetee’s June 2007 T-Shirt Design Competition Winner

UPDATE: This shirt has been added to Uneetee’s permanent collection! It is available here.

The grand prize winner for Uneetee’s latest $1000 tee design contest has been chosen, which make’s today’s new t-shirt Where Is My Happy Face?

Besides utilizing a limited, well-selected color palette and strong shadows to invoke a powerful mood (which makes this new t-shirt good design), Yoshi also uses a popular culture icon that is known and loved by many: LEGOs!

The only catch is that it will only be on sale until Midnight tonight (MST), although it will probably end up in It has been added to Uneetee’s semi-permanent Collection!

Uneetee: One Day, One Artist, One Cool Shirt

We first introduced Uneetee a while ago with their mystery t-shirt, but didn’t really explain what they’re all about. Their premise is pretty simple, but distances them from other independent tee shirt stores: every day they have on design up for sale, and it remains up for 24 hours, after which a new design is on sale for 24 hours, ad infinitum. Each artist gets paid $2 for every shirt of their design that is sold. The most popular shirt each week gets sold again during ‘Re-run Sunday’, and the most popular ones get put into Uneetee’s ‘Collections’, which is basically just a t-shirt shop with limited stock.

As you can see, some of their most popular designs are Threadless-esque, though they might have trouble getting printed on Threadless among the thousands of submissions. Besides Uneetee’s collections, try browsing through their history section to get a decent sense of the kind of designs they print. They’ve recently begun to print entirely on American Apparel stock, and their prices seem to fluctuate between $13 and $17 (though they may be set at $13 now).

MYSTERY Shirt?!

If you’re one of those types who goes for mystery, you might like today’s Uneetee. For $7, you can get a mystery shirt. What will it look like? See, that’s the thing: YOU WON’T KNOW UNTIL YOU GET IT. That’s why it’s a mystery. But you only have today to get it, because that’s Uneetee’s deal: a different design is available everyday.

Will Uneetee’s mystery shirt look like this? No, probably not. It will probably look a bit more like a t-shirt and less like a bubbley envelope.

Expensiveness: $7 for today only! ($15 (guys)/$17 (girls) normally!)
